 Library West is the premier library collection for the University of Florida. Since it's completion in 1968, the library has been under constant renovation and reorganization in an effort to meet the needs of the students and faculty.
This project consists of a proposed 100,000 square foot addition to Library West to serve as a secure and environmentally sound library ‘stack' to house print, microform and media collections.
As well as the addition, the 83,000 square feet of existing library is to be redesigned and renovated to provide effective library services. The infrastructure including, but not limited to, telecommunication, electrical, fire, HVAC and elevators is badly in need of upgrade.
The estimated costs for building construction and renovation, is approximately US$33,747,000.
Clare, Randall-Smith & Associates Limited was retained to provide mechanical and electrical cost estimates throughout the design phase. |
