The Rouge Valley Health System includes two full-service hospitals located on either side of the Rouge Valley. Combined, the two hospitals have almost eight decades of experience serving their communities. The amalgamation of the two sites in 1998 created an even stronger hospital system, committed to preserving, strengthening and ensuring accessto a full range of health care services for the communities they serve.

This project consisted of master plan exercises for both hospitals.

The Ajax redevelopment had an estimated construction cost of C$45 million and included, but was not limited to, new construction of, or improvements to, mental health, continuing care, rehabilitation, ambulatory care, acute inpatient care, diagnostic imaging and the emergency department.

The Centenary redevelopment had an estimated construction cost of C$14 million and included new construction or renovation of areas such as cardiovascular I.C.U., surgical suites and clinics, M.R.I., and ortho/fracture clinics.

Clare, Randall-Smith & Associates Limited and A.W. Hooker Associates Ltd were retained to provide ongoing budget estimates throughout the design stages.
