Earl Nichols Arena & Community Centre in London, Ontario is a full service, wheelchair accessible, multiple pad arena and community centre featuring activity & meeting rooms, heated viewing, kitchenette facilities and cold area spectator seating. The arena serves the local community and is home to the London Skating Club.

This project involved the expansion of the existing arena and included a 4,400 m² (47,360 ft²) addition of a new ice surface with bleacher seating, an elevated heated viewing area, a concession area, additional change rooms, and referee facilities.

The existing refrigeration system was expanded to provide the required cooling capacity for the new ice pad with an estimated cost for the refrigeration system alteration at $450,000.

The total construction cost for this project was C$6 million.

Clare, Randall-Smith & Associates Limited was retained to provide mechanical and electrical budgeting and cost control throughout the design phase of this project.
